All you have to do is boil them in hot water for 4 minutes, sprinkle with your favourite seasoning and they are ready to eat. But that would be a super boring post if I stop right here without including my usual step by step photos, so here goes!
Easy Peasy Edmame
All you need are as follows:
Seasoning of your choice (ie. salt, pepper, chilli pepper, Herbamare)
1 package of Edamame, this pack is non-GMO and only costed, on sale, for $2.00
Wait a minute. What is an edmame?! They are young soybeans that have been harvested before the beans have had a chance to harden. You can buy them shelled or in their fuzzy little pods, fresh or frozen. The package above is frozen and you can find them in most supermarkets.
Edamame is naturally gluten-free and low calorie, contains no cholesterol and is an excellent source of protein, iron, and calcium hence a great “pick me up” to snack on. It is an especially important source of protein for those who follow a plant-based diet. And they’re so fun to eat that you can’t help but keep popping them in your mouth! The good thing is, they’re good for you, so munch away!
Ready to eat them in the next few minutes?
Put all frozen edamame into the pot of boiling water:
Follow package instruction – usually boil for 3-5 minutes:
Drain and add spices of your choice:
Toss to coat spices onto pods, ready to eat!
But WAIT! Don’t eat the pod! You can easily push the beans out with your fingers:

They’re so fun to eat and so good for you that it’ll seem like a guilty pleasure. They’re so refreshing and scrumptious, they seem almost sinful.
